A few things that everyone should have on hand in case of a real shit storm. Feel free to email us to add your ideas and or items to this page.

These are the very basic things that every person should have on hand in case of world shut down. The list could be MUCH longer but if things go south, you'll need to move fast to protect your family and loved ones because the bad guys will be coming.

Please note: This is a SHORT TERM list. Three or 4 days is all you will want to live in the open, or in the wild. For much longer survival plans of action. Check out www.alpharubicon.com These guys are very serious about their survival tactics.

  • One of the most important things you can have and should have access to at ALL times is some cash. Keep several hundred dollars in your emergency bag ready to go.

Tactical bag with the following items:

  • One very reliable hand gun and several loaded magazines (at least 200 rounds of ammo).
  • One very good heavy fighting knife (don't forget a sharpening stone or other system to sharpen).
  • One long range rifle with scope and 100 rounds of ammo (do make sure your rifle has been sighted in).
  • 4 Motorola, or Midland two way radios set to the same channel - Be sure to have the type that will run on regular alkaline batteries.
  • 100 fresh alkaline batteries.
  • Three or four very good bright flashlights and a good supply of batteries. (SureFire lights are very good and the battery life is good)
  • Police scanner that has weather and emergency channels loaded.

Camping supplies

  • One very good tent that is easy to setup and fast to move
  • A 0 Degree sleeping bag for each person in your party
  • Coleman Propane lantern and as many extra cans of propane as you can carry .
  • Do you know how to build a fire?...if not LEARN!!! - For those that can't, get a Coleman Stove
  • Toilet paper

Clothing:

  • Several pairs of tough pants and a few heavy shirts - Save room by packing several t-shirts for insulation
  • Insulated Jacket
  • Several pair of Wool Socks.
  • A good hat
  • One pair of waterproof boots that are tough and comfortable.

Food:

This is where things get tough. Large amounts of food are not very mobile unless you have a good truck or SUV style vehicle, and since in the case of the world shutting down you can't get gas. Canned food is heavy but have a few on hand (don't forget to pack a can opener). Here are a few items that will last a while and are easy to transport.

  • Rice - Complex carbs, easy to fix
  • Beans - Protien
  • Olive Oil - Fats
  • Dried fruit
  • Beef Jerky
  • Trail Mix
  • MRE's
  • Several gallons of water - A good portable water filter system and some purification tablets.
